Hey y’all! I want to start sharing some of my favorite recipes. Today I’m talking about my grandmothers banana bread. This is a house hold hit every one loves it! This recipe is super simple, you probably already have evrerything sitting in your pantry! She was telling me she made a batch last week, and my Uncle and Aunt came over and devoured the whole dish, but they did leave a tiny sliver for her LOL! This recipe is for a cake, but we have always left it just as the banana bread. However, you can add icing or caramel of your choice! Also this does call for nuts use or don’t use your choice! I prefer the bread WITHOUT nuts…. but that totally personal preference!
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour – to flour add: 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt
3 ripe bananas (mashed)
1/2 cup of softened butter
1 teaspoon baking soda leveled dissolved in 2 tablespoons of milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
*1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Cream butter and sugar, add beaten egg and mix well. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, then add banana, *add the slightly floured nuts. Bake at 350º for 25- 30 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
* – optional
